Empowering to build a digital power system with
comprehensive perception of the entire energy flow process
At the beginning of March 2023, the “New Power System” Intelligent Perception Technology Seminar was successfully held in Beijing, hosted by State Grid Digital Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. The seminar aimed to exchange advanced intelligent perception technology and explore its applications in the new power system. Mr. Fu, the manager of Guangdong LeapFive Technology Co., Ltd., was invited to participate in the seminar as a special guest and delivered an important speech. Meanwhile, Mr. Fu also had in-depth exchanges with invited experts from other companies.
To implement the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, accelerate the development of the digital economy, and promote the integrated development of the real economy and the digital economy, digitalization has become an inevitable choice to adapt to the trend of the energy revolution and the digital revolution. Intelligent sensors are the basic technology for digitalizing the power grid and creating the power meta-universe. They are also a key technology for monitoring and protecting core units such as ultra-high voltage equipment in the power grid. Intelligent sensing devices will build a wide-ranging neual system for the power grid, endowing it with comprehensive perception, intelligent decision-making, real-time control, as well as fault prediction capabilities, thereby fully enhancing the ability of the new power system to collect, transmit, process, apply, and protect information.
The seminar was composed of a research team of experts from State Grid Digital Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. and the China Electric Power Research Institute, who introduced the intelligent sensing technology needs and research directions of the new power system. They analyzed the technology requirements, main sensing parameters of equipment in the four areas of power generation, transmission, distribution, and storage, the “sensing-transmission-computation” standards for equipment monitoring sensors, and key research directions in the four areas of power generation, transmission, load, and storage, clarifying the path for the transformation and application of subsequent results. Subsequently, experts from each invited company gave speeches, clarifying their views and products on the support direction of intelligent sensing for the new power system. LeapFive’s attending experts also made targeted speeches, explaining the original intention of adopting RISC-V open-source processor architecture to secure the energy Internet from the bottom, designing and completing several applications and products that support the intelligent sensing of the new power system, helping to create a new digital power system with comprehensive sensing of the entire energy flow.
The State Grid
Finally, Wang Jiye, Chairman of State Grid Digital Technology Holdings Co., Ltd., made a summary speech, articulating the important significance of developing intelligent sensing technology under the new situation from a macro-strategic perspective, looking forward to its development prospects in supporting efficient collaboration among power generation, transmission, load, and storage, and serving the digital transformation of the power grid. He also proposed that intelligent sensing technology should focus on business needs, core frameworks, technical standards, and application layouts, with practical and in-depth efforts to unify everyone’s understanding and clarify directions, hoping that all parties attending the conference would actively participate in the construction of the new power system intelligent sensing project.
